Antillean Engineers, Inc. has a long history of working inside the St. Croix refinery, formerly known as Hess Oil Virgin Islands Corp, later Hovensa LLC, and now Limetree Bay Refining. Over the past fifty years, AEI has performed high precision geodetic surveys, prepared boundary and topographic surveys for major refinery expansions, construction layout for the Cat Cracker and Coker units, and quality control services. AEI also designed reinforced concrete foundations for the 175-foot high marine navigational aid towers for Hess Oil Corp.

QUALITY IN EVERY PROJECT
Antillean Engineers, Inc. has an extensive inventory of state-of-the-art survey equipment, including Topcon GPS survey instruments and electronic total stations equipped with data collectors which allows for automated methods to perform boundary and topographic surveys. AEI also maintains an inventory of precise surveying levels and theodolites. From the data collectors, survey data is directly downloadable to our computing system to expedite analysis, design, and drawing production. AEI also has a fathometer to conduct hydrographic surveys.
Antillean Engineers, Inc. maintains a materials testing laboratory on St. Croix in Estate Springfield. At our lab, we have the capability to test concrete specimens, asphalt, and soils. AEI also has 2 Troxler moisture/density gauges which provides instantaneous results in the field.

Antillean Engineers. Inc. is located at 1-B Estate Clifton Hill near the La Reine Shopping Center where it occupies approximately 2,500 square feet of office space. The facilities include high capacity-high speed computing systems equipped with state-of-the-art engineering and design software. The computing facility provides the ability to create working/construction drawings. AEI also has the ability to analyze run-off characteristics of watersheds, stream flow depth/discharge relationships and perform civil/surveying using sophisticated software running in the latest version of AutoCAD.
